This is the 3rd time I've read Wuthering Heights and it will be the last.
Every time I've read this book, I've felt like it didn't reach me at the "right" time in my life - on first reading it I was too young, second reading - too cynical, this time I realised that the era I experience the book in is not the problem, the book is.

Wuthering Heights has to be the most unintentionally (I'm assuming) hilarious book I have ever read. The sheer pettiness of nearly every character was laughable. I'd put off thus book for years, yet found myself in tears at least once on each chapter almost.
Heathcliff hates everyone around him, making no secret of this. Of course, the one exception is Catherine, who is just as spiteful as himself, albeit not as prone to violence. As far as temperament, they deserve one another. I truly felt bad
