What a great start to an urban fantasy series! We have Anita Blake, who is an animator (can raise zombies). She is also a vampire hunter. Vampires are legally people in the USA and she has to get a court order to do it though. At the beginning of the book, she is asked to work for the vampires to solve a series of vampire murders. This book was just okay. Not great, not bad. I am really thinking it suffered from "the first book in the series" syndrome. I will not be racing to read book #2, but will maybe pick it up sometime in the future.
