Most of the reviews I've seen have simply been along the lines of "wtf did I just read" and, yeah, that's an element of this story, but more than that, this book is an atmosphere that is strangely familiar. Especially if you've ever been an academic. Especially if you've ever been a lonely outsider. Especially if you've ever wondered over close friendships.

Love hate with this book. Some of the writing was awesome. The send-up of fine arts/creative writing programs was fun to read. The Bunnies were creepy-weird. But the final premise was so lame. This book is about loneliness, anxiety, loss of control, and the horrors of graduate school. And it’s totally engrossing. I loved it.

Weird in the best way. Experimental. Odd. Smart. Creative. Fairytale meets horror. Loneliness. Outsider. “Heathers” meets its darker older sisters in graduate school. An English major’s strange literary dream.
A book I won’t soon forget.
