If someone who'd had a bad MFA experience had recently watched Heathers and remembered liking Frankenstein in high school, then did a modest amount of mushrooms and came up with a 5-star short story idea, then came down and wrote the story, but got up their own ass and stretched it to an entire novel, this is what you would get.

Dreamy, weird, hallucinogenic, inward-focussed, complex, horrific, and forlorn are some of the words that come to mind when thinking of Bunny by Mona Awad.
This book that I am buddy reading with #readcanlit is not going to be a book for everyone and requires attention. At moments I contemplated giving it up but at the same time was drawn in. Well, this was the weirdest book I've ever read. I liked it and hated it at the same time. I thought the "bunnies" were just a "mean girls" group at first, but things took a weird and creepy turn halfway through. I don't want to say much more, because I don't want to spoil it.
