They say you can't judge a book by its cover but this time, judge away if you're a book lover. Emily Henry masterly weaves together book quotes, quirky characters and pens the relationship between a 'sharky' agent and curmudgeonly editor. That playful banter will leave readers eagerly paging through the story until closing the final chapter.

Oops, I did it again—read yet another romance that
a. Has a cartoon cover
b. Fetishizes New York City
c. References the Philadelphia Story
d. Describes the love interest’s eyes as being a molten pool of caramel/smoldering maple/burnt sugar/smoldering wisps of amber, blah blah food reference blah blah extreme weather reference

I love a good bookish romance, but this one had some nice twists that I hadn't seen before. Nora's great, as is Libby and Charlie, and that whole group of people in North Carolina. But each of them also had their own story arc, dealing with emotional trauma from their pasts, and each of them got to deal with it in turn. I felt like some of the characters' traumas were brought out a little too late, but that's my opinion. I liked that the woman in new waters wasn't the one with the bookstore, I l ...more
