What Members Thought

As someone who has had chronic pain and chronic fatigue for most of my life, Chloe's character was extremely relatable. The loss of relationships, the fears of being unlovable, the reluctance to make solid plans because you don't know how you will feel, all of that was so spot on. I adored Red and his ability to see beyond the pain and fatigue and Chloe's insistence that she is okay when she really wasn't okay at all. Just an overall wonderfully told story.

When this book was offered as a title in the Book Club Girl Free Friday program, I decided to give it a try and am so glad I did. The first installment in the Brown Sisters series introduces us to Chloe Brown, a chronically ill technical whiz who decides to do just what the title suggests. After a near-death experience, Chloe makes a list of items to embrace life to the fullest, even if some of these things cause her a bit of trepidation. She eventually enlists her apartment building's hunky han

Sweet, and snarky. I really liked I lot in this book: the character’s witty banter...their chemistry, the representation of a medical condition I had not seen depicted in a fictional story. I was happy to not watch a lot of un needed drama just to give characters something to fight and make up about. The drama is all a part of each character’s background story which they work through as a relationship develops.
I was surprised (but not disappointed) in the steaminess of the book.

This was cute and shown a spotlight on fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue without it overshadowing the love story. Lots of body positivity, too. I don’t like when misunderstandings are the catalyst for the main problem to be solved—just ask a question and listen to the answer!-but I guess there needed to be some drama.

It was ok for me. Not a bad book, but not really for me. I just don't mix with the whole "act like we dislike each other" thing. It always comes off as childish to me, and ruins any other good vibes the book has.
I will say, however, that the external conflict had a satisfying resolution and wasn't drawn out to ridiculous proportions, which I really enjoyed. ...more

Ugh, such a good book that I devoured it in a little over a day! Chloe and Red are wonderful characters to get to know, and they're not perfect beings at all. They've both dealt with some heavy stuff, emotionally and physically, and they're daring themselves to be more like their old selves. The fact that they find each other in the same process of getting over their pasts and growing into someone better is a miracle. The fact that they both realize they need to be more patient, communicative, d
