Probably 4.5 stars but rounding up because of Backman’s relatability and the way he so beautifully finds words to describe things and ask questions everyone thinks. I was touched by this story. It’s honest and heartfelt.

Also it took me a few chapters to get into it, so keep reading. It’s worth it.

At first it was hard for me to get into this book. I think the rhythm of it was just something I wasn't used to. However, as I followed the threads from chapter to chapter, I became completely engrossed in these characters and the mystery. By the end, I completely loved the book. ...more

Loved the second half of this book - it took me so long to read this because I just could not get into the storyline in the first half, the build up was sooooo slow. But, the second half completely made up for it, with the Backman style that I love!
