What Members Thought

Very unusual book. It was a slow start for me. I wasn't sure what was going on as the world didn't make sense to me at the start, but things get revealed along the way and then it all starts to come together. It only took me 2 days to read 2/3rds of the book because I couldn't put it down once I got into it. I will definitely look out for the next book!

If ever there was a book that deserved a Hugo award, this is it. Move over Connie Willis, Neil Gaiman, my dears, make some room for our new friend. Get out of line, Redshirts by John Scalzi, you're messing up my awards here.

This was good, and while I was reading I was very interested in the world-building. But once I got to the end, it curiously failed to make me want to read further. Maybe the world is too damn bleak overall, or maybe it's too hard for me to connect with the main characters. I am glad I read this, but I'm satisfied to put it down and try something else, rather than reading on.
