I read this book and I immediately wanted to read it again. While this started as a fanfic story embedded in another novel (FANGIRL), it stands on its own merits. It has so much of the cheek and side eye we love about fanfic, but it is well-paced. The characters are great; even the female characters have lives and interests and backstories and relationships with each other. Me parece que le sobran muchas muchas páginas y que se hubiera apreciado mucho mejor la construcción del mundo mágico si se hubiera mostrado más de él. Sin embargo, creo que cumple con la promesa de darle tridimensionalidad a unos personajes circunstanciales que rebasaron su espacio.
I started out not really enjoying this book because it read so much like a HP fanfic, which I know was the point. But I had a hard time separating Simon and Baz from Harry and Draco. But about halfway through that all changed and the story became its own separate story.
