Wrecked. Wrecked. Close to home book and wrecked. Well written and very touching.
A short read about a boy coming to terms with the fact his mother is dying from cancer. I thought it was interesting but could have used some more description about his mother and their relationship.
I loved this book! It feels like Neil Gaiman type writing and it's so well done. (Betterworld challenge: a book that's been adapted into a movie)

A few supernatural elements in the midst of some very real emotions make for a perfect way to explain grief: the guilt, the anger, the loneliness. I worried that this book would be too sad for to enjoy (it's all about a boy dealing with his mom's terminal cancer), but I found it to actually be quite healing and validating. A quick read but layered with wisdom.

OMG this book. It has been a while since I sobbed at the end of a book. Beautifully written story about grief and destruction and healing and love.
