The book seemed promising, what with the awesome cover art and its opening line of "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains." But it was a huge let down. For starters, there really was not a lot of "zombie mayhem" as we were led to believe. I was expecting a laugh-out-loud read from start to finish but realized that most of the novel was made up of Austen's original work which was only occasionally punctuated with Grahame-Smith' ...more

I wanted to like this much more than I actually did. The zombie piece was never developed as much as I thought it would be and instead it seemed like they just took any reference to playing piano or music and inserted zombie killing instead.

There's a Swedish word "studentikos" - typical for high-school/college students. Usually immature and stupid. The author just couldn't stop saying "balls, hurhurhur". It was stupid already the first time.
So, if you like Jane Austen, don't read this. If you thought Pride and Prejudice was a bit stupid and found the balls amusing, read it.
