It was just what I expected it to be, but I did enjoy it. I have already got the next ebook from the library, so I shall be continuing on with the story.
This book is like The Bachelor meets The Princess Diaries...only set in a future version of The U.S which has been invaded and then saved only to end in a world ruled by kings once again,and the people are stuck in a caste system. You are defined as a person by a number and exist by what is expected of you in that number. The Selection is a competition between girls of a certain age to win the heart of the prince. The concept is interesting, a sort of dystopian world Hunger-Games style competition to 'win' Prince Charming. Not quite as well written as it could be but nonetheless still quite enjoyable.

I actually really enjoyed this.
Of course it's all drama and love triangles (what good is a YA without it) but I did enjoy it and will be reading the second book shortly. :) ...more
