I’m going to jump on the Cricket bandwagon. I. loved. him.

However, I do not love his name. Cricket, Stephanie? Why Cricket? And here I thought you couldn’t get worse than Etienne St. Clair. I mean, you have these awesome, traditional, if somewhat old-fashioned, girls names with Anna and Lola.. but what is going on with the boy names?! It’s just so hard to take a guy named Cricket seriously.

Speaking of Anna and St. Clair – LOVE the cameo’s here.

I realize that romance books are exercises in fantasy. But there should be a fine line between completely unbelievable and rosy but still identifiable. Slipping into the realm of unbelievable doesn't allow for any sympathy. YA romance authors Simone Elkeles and E. Lockhart are better at finding this balance and creating believable characters.
Lola is a stock character - which would be ok for a side character but not really developed enough for a main character. What do you really know about her? ...more
