What Members Thought

Let's be real. This is Twilight for bookish grown-ups. But you know what? I enjoyed the whole Twilight mess and I enjoyed this even more because this was for adults and included musty libraries and historians doing research at Oxford. I was completely taken with these characters and the world that Harkness described. After racing through this 500+ page book, I immediately bought and started the second book in the trilogy.

The cat-and-mouse at the beginning between the main characters felt long and usually that’s my favorite part of romance storylines. I also didn’t love the level of deference by the woman witch to the male vampi

I found that I was more interested the secondary characters than the two primary characters. Nevertheless, I think book #2 will be interesting & I'm willing to give it a shot. I hope that the secondary characters make appearances and we get some more of the history story :)
