Ha! Actually it's 3,5 stars (when is Goodreads going to add the half stars in its system???). Anyway. I love: the 80s setting, all the music and stuff (although besides music and walkman, I guess there's nothing much about the 80s in this book), the characters (eleanor is quite ok and park- although a little bit too hopelessly romantic for my taste - is kinda cute), and the feeling I had when reading this book (reminiscing about the past, uh huh).

I just finished this book and I really liked it. I loved the two main characters - espcially Park. Eleanor is quite broken - but we can see why when we meet her family. This is a very sweet love story and it barely touches the sex surface. This could be a good thing for some younger readers but there is quite a lot of bullying and terrible graphic language.

A wonderful story of teenage first love set against the awesome alt music background of the mid '80s. Eleanor and Park are a pair of Omaha misfits that figure out slowly, gently that they fit in perfectly when they are with each other. Beautifully and sensitively written. A superb book.

Wow, can't put in to words how much I enjoyed this book....full of the music of my adolescence with wonderful characters and dialogue. A MUST READ!
