When my middle daughter turned 11, firmly entering into tween-hood, I decided that we would listen to this book together. We'd listen when it was only the two of us in the car together, usually on the way to karate. I should have re-read it before I started listening to it with my daughter so that I could prepare myself. Although I read a lot of Judy Blume as a kid, it was mostly Ramona books and Forever. I never got to this one, so I just finished listening to it via audiobook. It was fun, funny, and well-paced. Margaret was a great character, and her prayers to God were totally believable. Since the struggle to find one's place in the world, religiously, is not a common theme in today's young adult literature, I hope to be able to recommend it to a pre-teen in my life soon.
