Oh how i loved this book. The story takes place in Britain - Louisa takes a job caring for Will, a young and handsome quadriplegic. Lou learns early on that Will plans to commit suicide to end the life he now has to lead. Lou decides she will try and make him happy - happy enough to not end his life. This story is a tear-jerker but it is not cloying, and the author treats you as a friend whom she is relaying the story too - she doesn't treat you like a sap. I loved the characters in the story. T

Okay. Am I the only one who thought this book is a bit "trying too hard"? I can't relate to the characters, especially the heroine Lou, who seemed to be not consistent throughout the book. The writer tried so hard to make me sympathize with her but I didn't feel it at all. The main theme is actually pretty interesting and a bit promising. But the cliche of it all - meh. And the ending, albeit not too cliche, couldn't capture my heart as well - even though usually I love heartbreaking ending. But

This was a quick read, but I struggled to get past the Cinderella-style story. When I was a kid, Cinderella was my favorite, but now that I'm in my 30's the whole "woman needing a man to save her" story line is not quite what I am looking for.
