This was a cute graphic novel based on the authors experience of her own hearing loss and relearning to navigate through a hearing world.

I've had this book in my classroom library for a long time, probably over a decade, but I never got around to reading it. When I off-loaded most of my classroom books to other friends when I moved, I kept this one back because I felt like I still really wanted to read it. I'm glad I finally got around to it

Cece loses her hearing at age 4 and adapts to life with hearing aids. Soon she figures out that the special hearing aid that she uses in school gives her superpowers!

This Newbery-honor book is about a girl (rabbit) with hearing aids ... and superpowers! I thought it was interesting that this story was largely autobiographical. The graphic novel format makes this coming-of-age story a quick, accessible read for kids.
