Oh man. The story is getting crazier and crazier. Congrats, George R.R. Martin for making me stay at home during my holiday XD But why did I reduce the star from the 5 stars (like all of the previous books had from me)? Well, it's because this book focused more on the King's Landing, and therefore, focused more on the people that I don't like, especially Cersei. Seriously, I can't stand that b*tch... It took me almost a year to get through this. I'm suffering through the series because I started it and I need to finish, but I mean... look, the book is obviously meant to be read in huge chunks, so as a young mom, maybe I'm just not in the right season for it. I get that it's a well-tuned, forward-looking story, but the multiple POV make it hard to get lost in the narrative. A big book like this should propel me forward, not mire me down.

I cannot believe how much I struggled to finish this book when I enjoyed the others so much. It was long, tedious, and so very boring. There were a few great scenes, a couple of which were shocking. For the most part, though, I just didn't really care about the characters as much. There was way too much Cersei, and Samwell isn't an exciting enough character to carry more than one chapter. Oh well, I am still looking forward to the next book. I hope it's better.
