This is a fun, suspenseful book. I was a little skeptical because I'm not a huge fan of survival stories, but because of Mark Watney's sense of humor and the back and forth to Earth for NASA and JPL's perspective it was really entertaining. There is a lot of physics that I tried to understand but am sure I barely grasped--I found it interesting but I imagine some skim over it. I actually started this book in July 2015! Took a year and a half to finish.

I really liked the beginning, then it got a bit too much in the middle (boring!) - when he was all alone on Mars & it was super technical.

Picked it up again and flew through the end. I think I was just motivated to finish it, and it actually wasn't as boring as I remember it. ...more
