I just don't know about this book. It was a little too ... too. A little too overly dramatic. A little too impressed with itself. And it was just so bloated. So much of this didn't need to be there. Reading this is not unlike having a conversation with someone who continually punctuates their comments with: "drops mic." If you are fond of those "drops mic" type memes, then this may be right up your alley.

You have reluctant reader teenage/college age boys? Seriously - hand them this book. Oh. my. goodness.
This is thriller-zombiefied-bloggingworld-dystopia-madness. Seriously, no one is safe. Mira Grant has made a world with a believable mixture of diseases causing reanimation and has infused it with a realistic political structure and news reporting structure. This is a book bloggers need to embrace - it shows how much potential power we have. We see it already with our reviews of books much like ...more

I really enjoyed this book! I can't say if it was "good science" or not, because I'm not a scientist. But it was interesting science, and used to good, creepy effect. The action sequences were great, and that's usually where I glaze over while reading.
My main gripe is with the preponderance of tech scenes. I get that this whole world is rooted in blogging, and web security but, ugh! So. Much. Typing. And connecting things. And routing things. And watching things. Again, given the actual plot of ...more

I listened to this way back around Halloween. Between the zombies and the presidential campaign, it was timely in more ways than one. There was a lot of talk about this book when it was released, and my expectations were met and then some. As far as zombie stories go, it’s not particularly scary, but there are definitely a lot of tense moments. Georgia and Shaun are very likeable main characters, even if they are headstrong at times. You grow to respect them, not only as people, but as businessp

This book was not good. I saw it recommended a bunch somewhere, and I thought I'd try a zombie book because they're all the rage now. But this isn't really about zombies, and it's not very good writing (the author explains everything instead of just letting it happen), and it's boring. Oh well. I think I got about halfway through. I read the spoilers on some other reviews, so I'm confident I'm not missing anything.

It was definitely interesting. I'm not going to elaborate more as I don't want to give anything away. I will likely read the next in the series, though I won't be rushing to get a copy.
