I am one of the few who didn't think the movie was the greatest thing ever made, and after reading the book, I think I like the movie even less. Sometimes it dragged a little, but it was kind of supposed to as Patrick Bateman's monotonous life causes the murders (or murder fantasies).

Is this a one star book? Yes! Is this a 5 star book? Yes! So I added them together and it came to a average of 3. Which is crazy, as is this book. It is so weird and intense and in the head of a person similar to yourself, except a psychopathic serial killer with a fixation on clothes. Don't read it.

This book is just a wall of text that goes nowhere. The two page description of the main character's toilette, with every product detailed, was really what did me in.
