I listened to the audio book and I’d think if I’d read it instead I wouldn’t have liked it as much, the narrator was very good.Story is based of a tragic childhood that Eleanor had and this history shaped her as a not very successful social person. She is dramatically under her brutal mother’s influence and see everything from a very strict point of view.

I loved this book. The character development, the mixture of funny moments and serious subjects, the slow unraveling of Eleanor's past. Devoured it and took lots of notes so I can remember things to talk about with my book club next month. <3

Reading this books is like befriending an eccentric loner and learning all about her. Eleanor struggles with appropriate social skills and, in the beginning, tends to avoid social interactions as much as possible. Yet her story takes us on her journey growing, making new friends, and doing all sorts of things outside of her comfort zone. She shares many thoughts that the introvert in you will relate to.

So, this started out slow and difficult. I am really glad I stayed with it. I enjoyed Eleanor’s growth and healing.

2 weeks after reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and I am still thinking about the characters and the book. This book drew me into Eleanor's world and had me thinking differently about people and the world. I did not want it to end. thank you for writing this beautiful book.
