I loved this book. The character development, the mixture of funny moments and serious subjects, the slow unraveling of Eleanor's past. Devoured it and took lots of notes so I can remember things to talk about with my book club next month. <3 ...more

Reading this books is like befriending an eccentric loner and learning all about her. Eleanor struggles with appropriate social skills and, in the beginning, tends to avoid social interactions as much as possible. Yet her story takes us on her journey growing, making new friends, and doing all sorts of things outside of her comfort zone. She shares many thoughts that the introvert in you will relate to.

So, this started out slow and difficult. I am really glad I stayed with it. I enjoyed Eleanor’s growth and healing.
