Nope. 400 pages of product placement, assholes, vile behavior, and satire of a society I don't care about. Maybe I'm too old for this shit.

Really graphic and truly disturbing read. A glimpse into the mind of a psychopathic young new yorker who is also obsessed with identifying the designer of all the clothes of any character in the book. For the record, I'm wearing $15 sock monkey pajama pants from Target. ;)

I am one of the few who didn't think the movie was the greatest thing ever made, and after reading the book, I think I like the movie even less. Sometimes it dragged a little, but it was kind of supposed to as Patrick Bateman's monotonous life causes the murders (or murder fantasies).

I would have given this book 5 stars if I hadn't vomited, had nightmares for a month, and then insisted that it be removed from my home ... after loving every word of it.
Parts of this book still make me shudder years after having read it ... but I still recommend it to people who are into horror. It takes a strong stomach to get through it, but it is strangely alluring and addictive. ...more

I DNFed it. It was just way too much gratuitous violence, misogyny, unchecked capitalism, and I know many think it's a critique, but to me, it read more like a fantasy of all those things. I made it 200 pages in, but just...no.
