Really disappointing end to this series. Also I HATE new POVs being introduced when previous books were a single POV. Hate. Hate. Hate.

Allegiant was a somewhat disappointing conclusion to the story begun in Divergent and continued in Insurgent. While the first two books were action packed and kept me guessing at who to trust and what would happen, this book got bogged down in romantic trysts and complicated conspiracies.

what a mess. i'm actually tempted to give this one star, since roth clearly gave no thought to how absurd and half-baked this wrap-up was. i would go into the many, many issues in this book, but i think they can all be summed up with these words: "death serum."

The ending was not a total surprise because she did a good job of setting the stage, not just in this book but in the other two books of the trilogy. ...more

Started this one and discovered that I apparently don't remember a single event or character (besides Tris and Tobias) from book 2, so I read the Wikipedia article about Insurgent, and I still don't remember much of anything, and now this one is due back to the library with a long waiting list, so maybe I'll try re-reading the second one before I consider coming back to this one. ...more
