I don't regret reading this since I wanted to know how she was going to finish the series, but this book completely failed an already mediocre series. First off, there was no reason to change her narrative structure for this last book. In fact, doing so was a giveaway of the ending. In my mind, there is something worse than a bad book: a boring one. And boy is Allegiant boring. Lackluster plot, a mishmash of formerly exciting characters and an ending that made wonder if Ms. Roth didn't hate this character all along. I am so disappointed with how this series ended. I really liked the first book, the second was still pretty good. This last book? Ugh. It was a steady stream of irritating conflict, conflict, conflict, ending in half-assed resolution. There was a lot of wandering around, and ended in the most anticlimactic climax. I'm sorry that it didn't follow a different path at the end. ...more

WTH, Roth! I did not like how this ended! I get it was a big thing for her to be willing to do but I did not like it. Right up to the end I was enjoying it, then I wasn't. ...more

The second book of the series wasn't my favorite, but somehow this one pulled me back in. I couldn't believe how it ended(!!), but I read it in one fell swoop and enjoyed it. ...more

I won't say I LIKED the ending but it wasn't my book to write. Veronica Roth can do whatever she wants. I do think the portrayal of grief was very real and authentic. ...more

I like this one more than I expected to. Story was interesting but writing was worse quality than books 1 & 2.
