It was just what I expected it to be, but I did enjoy it. I have already got the next ebook from the library, so I shall be continuing on with the story.

I think I might be embarrassed to give such a high rating, but the book must have just come around at the right time for me. Kind of a guilty pleasure read, perhaps. Let's be frank: the world was not very well developed, with some arbitrary caste system, some obnoxious entitled girls, some annoying poor communication, and a lame cliffhanger ending. Fun read but inconsistencies gave me whiplash

Beautiful clothes, dystopian world and an artsy heroine make this a 4.5, but the angst, inconsistent self-esteem and unbelievable caste system brought my rating down to 3. Mostly it was the main character's self image swinging from I'm so pretty to nearly self loathing that drove me nuts.

I'm not sure I've ever watched a full episode of The Bachelor, but this seemed like The Bachelor + Brave New World + Beauty Queens + The Hunger Games with just a dash of 90210. Light and fun to listen to. ...more

Um...yes please. How did I miss this one when it came out 10 years ago? Once I started listening I didn't want to stop. Can't wait to see what happens in the next one. ...more

I liked this book a lot. There was more depth than I was expecting to the story and characters. America as a character is learning to find her voice and is starting to believe in her strength. There is an ending to this book that is satisfying while giving you a lead into book two. Can’t wait!!
