I am not sure how I feel about this book, so I think that means I liked it. The writing is awesome, though I do wish I could read it in Spanish because there was one bit that I know had to be so much better in the original language (it just wasn't sexy in English, but context tells me it was a super hot moment).

I find it hard to believe that before this, I had not read this book or seen the movie. I really, really enjoyed it. The writing was deceptively simple, but the story was powerful. I gave it 4 stars only because I didn't like the ending.

Yeaaaah.. Not liking the whole Magic Realism thing. We're going along, having a plot in the normal world, trouble brews, and then, poof! magic takes care of the rest. That's so cheating. I don't even know if my little paraphrasing applies to this book, because I forgot it as soon as the magic came into play.
