I really, REALLY loved this book. I read most of it on a flight from Baltimore to Seattle, and in those six hours of immersion in the world of Will Grayson, Will Grayson I had to stifle bellowing laughter and try to covertly cover up my tears. The ONLY reason I give this four instead of five stars is the Tiny musical plot. I tried so hard to suspend my disbelief but I just couldn't buy a high school caring enough to fund the production, and the fact that it was such a huge part of the text was k ...more

This is the story of Will Grayson and Will Grayson, two Chicagoland teens who eventually meet, changing their own fates in the process.

I really enjoyed reading this! I actually liked depressed W.G. better than apathetic W.G. Plenty of laugh out loud lines, but I felt something was missing to propel this story into 5-star status. I do kinda wish I had listened to this on CD,…I would’ve LOVED to hear some of Tiny’s songs. =)

Even though I am not quite as much of a slobbering John Green fangirl as I once was, I still think he is one of the best YA writers working today.

WGWG worked for me, and even though I had a strong preference for the Will Grayson without an aversion to capital letters (sorry Mr. Levithan),I liked the structure as a whole. Fun, brave, and ultimately heartwarming, this was a whole lot of fun to get through.

I really loved seeing two sides to this story. I had a clear preference for a Will Grayson/writing style, but I still really enjoyed it as a whole. Tiny was practically sprung from a Steve Kluger novel (which is to
say, I loved him). The end was over the top, but I was so sucked in that I
didn't care. It was kind of like the Glee finale. The emotion transcended
the melodrama.

John Green, marry me.

David Levithan, I like you but I don't LIKE you like you -- yet. I need more time.

The alternating chapters, with each author writing from the point of view of a different Will Grayson, worked well in this format, but I found myself impatiently waiting to get back to Tiny. The end of this book was also a little cheeseball, but whatever, who cares, this book is lovely.

When two boys named Will Grayson meet randomly in Chicago one evening, both their lives take unexpected turns. This is exactly what you would expect from YA powerhouse authors Green and Levithan. At turns funny and poignant, it's a book for which fans of either author will clamor. And rightly so. ...more

I enjoyed this more than I expected to. Funny, engaging, and quite touching at times. Sadly, I finished it quite a while ago and can't think of anything more specific to include in this review... ...more

I was really impressed by how well these two authors wrote together. I think they really balanced each other out. I was a littttle annoyed by all-lowercase emo will grayson, but perhaps that is because I'm a few years out of my teens. And, confession, I haven't read anything else by David Levithan but he's ON MY LIST now. And John Green retains his place on my YA lit crush list. ...more

This book is so, so good. These characters became real people for me, and their heartaches and triumphs became my own. It made me laugh out loud, repeatedly, and it had me in tears at the end. Wow.

I loved the chapters that John Green wrote. The David Levithan chapters grew on me, but that initial adjustment to the writing style made me drop it from Loved to Really, Really Liked. I wish Tiny Cooper had gone to my high school and put on his musical there.

This book is probably more deserving of 3 stars overall, but it's getting 4 because the last quarter gave me so many of the happy feels. Also: Tiny Cooper! Oh man, he's awesome. ...more
