Crazy and creepy and fast-paced - I saw the movie first, but I still couldn’t put this down, because it was so different and I needed to know what happened. Terrifying post-apocalyptic horror. No one knows what is causing people to go mad and kill themselves, because if you see it you'll go mad yourself. I think Malerman does a great job weaving the story together, jumping back and forth in time between the present and the time before the children were born.
