This book is so scary!!! I kept wanting to tell Corey about parts of it that I was reading, but I really want him to read it, too, so I didn't. This was the perfect blend of psychological horror and a touch of gore that is really scary to me. It was also the type of book that kept me asking myself what I would do if any of this happened to me.

This book was not that scary to me, but it was compelling in its ideas of a new reason the world is destroyed (sorry not sorry I love things that are post-apocalyptic). I could tell this was a debut novel because the characters were not quite as developed and the language the author used was a little stiff. But otherwise, a good creepy read - and I look forward to the upcoming movie out on Netflix at the end of this year.

legit one of the scariest books I have ever read. stayed up late reading it because I was too nervous to try and sleep without knowing what happened. the ending is a little hokey and neat, but still a worthwhile read for those who enjoy a good thriller.

Somewhere between 4 & 5 stars. And no, I haven’t seen the film version yet.

3.5 stars - unseen horror, very well realized!

What was the big deal about this book? To paraphrase a line from Bob's Burgers - it's scary-ISH but not good; is that what you were going for?

There was some good tension and the premise itself is unsettling but this book was ultimately pretty boring.

An unsettling and eerie psychological suspense that leaves so much up to the imagination, making it that much more creepy. Perfect for October.
