I definitely recommend procuring the audio book, preferably for free if you are able. It seems like a lot of the complaints about the book are that it's short, and not that funny. Well, the audio version is 5.5 hours of Tina Fey making wisecracks. Disaster averted!
I hope a lot of people read this, to be honest. A lot of Fey's experiences as a woman (professionally and otherwise) sort of remind me of a Judy Blume book dudes could deal with. Though the whole, "I'm not hot! Really!" schtick is gett ...more

Best funny audiobook ever. Tina Fey just knocks the whole thing -- writing, reading, performing, self-deprecating -- out of the park. In particular, I loved the last 20 minutes or so about her debate over whether to have a second child seemed so honest and so hilarious and so RIGHT.
And my favorite part, the prayer for her daughter is online... love it. ...more

Tina Fey is my (and many others') homegirl. If you are simultaneously smart and clueless, if you are career-oriented by choice or by chance, if you don't know if you want to be married or have kids or if you secretly do but don't want to look weak in the eyes of feminism and society, if you aren't quite sure what the hell you're doing, if you waver in between delusions of charming gorgeousness and gargoyle-like awkwardness, if you don't know exactly how the fuck you've achieved what you've achie

I finished this way too long ago to write an adequate review. It was really funny. I think it would have been even funnier if I'd listened to it. Alas, I did not. It was also often surprisingly insightful. I have a bunch of funny and/or insightful quotes marked. But it's been so long that I really don't feel motivated to re-read and type them up. But trust me, it's a good quick read. I want to be Tina Fey's friend. The end.

I think maybe my expectations were too high? I mean, this was funny of course, but I was expecting it to be like... hysterical. I guess. IDK. Also I think by the time I actually got my hands on the book, I'd already read the best bits on the internet.
But still, funny and a lot of great points about feminism and comedy, etc. Hurrah! ...more

I'm not sure why I was interested in reading this book since I am not a SNL or 30Rock fan. I thought it would be funnier than I found it. A few good points about being a boss as a female and on deciding whether to have a second child but not worth my time.

Took me much longer than everyone else to finally read this book, but I'm so happy I did. I enjoyed her stories & insights, nothing groundbreaking but definitely entertaining.
