I am at a loss. I cannot address all of the things I feel about this book without taking away your personal experience of it. So I won't.
What I will share is the gift this book is ... in so many ways. She gives us amazing characters; humor, banter, and just plain goodness throughout every chapter...real dialogue and thoughts... t ...more

Absolutely 6 stars!
In fact I loved this book so much that I've created my own Penny Reid is the bomb shelf. No way this book can be mixed together with others. It has the best male fictional character for a booklover girl like me: a cowboy vicking poet. Penny, you have ruined me for all the other books that I'll read in the near future because I can't stop thinking about Drew Runous and his notes, poems and love letters for Ashley. Yes, I'm jealous of a Ashley, a fictional character, go figure.. ...more

This book is everything I always thought I'd hate and never knew I absolutely needed in my life.

Penny Reid has become the reason I wake up in the morning. I don't know what I'll do until Truth or Beard comes out. I'll just have to read Drew's poetry over and over again.
Or Sandra's.

With you there are only two distances that matter:
Here.
Not here.
You are not here.

I do not posses the beautiful brilliance that is Ms Penny's writing I cannot extol the virtues of Nietzsche or the deep layering and meaning of poetry. However I defy anyone to read this book and not be totally lifted with it's humour, immense joy in the kindness of friends and the utter devotion that family can have. This book to me wasn't about Ash and Drew Mr Epically swoony although their story was almost spiritual in their journey and sometimes seemed from a bygone era, no to me the book wa

I will come back and write a proper review but I just had to jot down a few random thoughts while the book is fresh in my mind. Finished it moments ago after staying up until 3am last night because I couldn't put it down. Just one more chapter... just one more page... just until the next time a sentence ends at the bottom of the page. Yeah, and then 3am happened... work on less than 3 hours sleep - not good BUT SO WORTH IT (but would have been better if I didn't need any sleep an ...more

Loved, loved, loved it.
I only had one problem with the book.
I couldn't put it down. ;()
I loved Ashley. I loved Drew. I loved her Brothers!
It was funny. It was sad. It was serious.
I don't want to spoil parts for anyone who has not read this fabulous and delightful book. Drew is just great. But he frustrated me with holding himself back. Shaking my head. Wasted so much time they did. (Yoda inspired) Now, I think some of the brothers need full length books. Maybe give some novellas. But not befo ...more

Love this book!
It was hard to put this book down. Drew Runous is one of the best heroes I've had the pleasure of reading, and they are many. Even though the Winston brothers are well represented, this book was about the lone Winston daughter, and her growth from estranged to much loved sister. Ashley's friends are familiar and lovable. Drew and Ashley's story is plain old good stuff...loved it! ...more

Stayed up until 3:00 am last night to finish this book. I loved it! The Winston brothers are some of my favorite characters I've ever read. I am truly looking forward to the new series Penny is writing about them.
