This book started off really badly for me; I thought I was going to have to give up until I got about 150 pages in and it all started to finally kick off.

Set in a dystopian world, Tally is almost sixteen and old enough to be turned from 'ugly' to 'pretty'. Before this happens, Tally meets Shay who is another teen that considers running away and tries to explain to Tally about the world beyond. The story line was intriguing, but the normalcy and acceptance of drinking and lustful behavior ruined it for me. Will not be reading the rest.
