What Members Thought
While I enjoyed the story, it took me over 300 pages to feel invested. I also found it hard to relate to any of the characters.

I had trouble to follow the book through initial few pages as description of the estate was little abstruse.Once the heroine narrates the life story,book picks up and becomes interesting. I really liked the Mrs De Winter character,her diffidence, her effort to keep Maxim happy. She stood by him after knowing the truth and expressed genuinely more than bad deed done by her husband, she is happy he wasn't in love with his former wife. I'm glad I finally was able to read this book considered a classic by many. I listened to it on audio and the narrator really acted out all the characters so very well. I finished with some unanswered questions as well as some questions that were answered surprisingly different than what I expected. I'm tossed between a 4.5 and a 5 on this one. Thus the 4*.
