I would never have picked this book up if not for trailers for the tv show. I found it to be pretty meh. The writing is very simple, not a hard word to be found. Short, choppy direct sentences. The characters are wooden the plot the only thing worth hanging in there for. I honestly pushed myself to finish it just to figure out how Crouch was going to end it. And, okay, pretty decent ending. Week 32 of the 2015 Reading Challenge - Book 1 in a Trilogy.

This was a very fast read and a good one. I have not seen the TV series but cannot wait to read Book 2!

"Action action action mystery??? action action action conspiracy??? action action action action.

Explanation. "

This is my summary of Wayward Pines. I listened to the audiobook, so I'm not sure how my impressions might have been different had I read it. It was definitely interesting, and at times I couldn't pull myself away. I'm curious about the next two books and I'll probably read or listen to them, I just wish this one hadn't been quite so anti-climatic.
