This story still holds up. It had been years since I'd read any Judy Blume, and I really didn't remember the details of this story. I don't remember being quite as concerned with growing up as Margaret is in this story, and this time around I'm sure I sympathized more with her teacher, nervously beginning his career.

I read this for PopSugar challenge: a banned book. (I just don't really understand what the objection is to this book.)

A classic!

A classic book that all pre-teens should read! Not only does it address religion but a lot of the changes happening in their lives. Easy read, must read!

So glad that my 10 year old self read this book … it’s just lovely. Happy I re-read it!

I reread this in April, 2023 since the movie adaptation was coming out and because this is a frequently banned book. I had forgotten all about the parents allowing her to choose her religion and how this was another of the major dilemmas in the book. When I read it at 10 years old, it was all about puberty for me, but now it is so much more. The irony is that my own parents were allowing me to pick my own religion as I became an adult too.
