Eipä tätäkään voi moittia. Vähän vähemmän on Pendergastin yliluonnollista mystiikkaa ja enemmän deus ex machinaa. Tarinahan pääpiirteissään on toisinto neljännestä kirjasta jossa Corrie esiintyy ensimmäisen kerran. Sinänsä se ei haittaa, koska kaikki kirjat on jo kirjoitettu ja musiikki sävelletty. Eli sen verran on tarinaa ja tapahtumia rungon ympärillä, että teos on kuitenkin omanlaisensa.

Week 17 of the 2015 Book Reading Challenge - A Book Recommended by a Friend. My sister "recommended" this one. Sort of! She brought some books to my mom's house over the weekend and this was in it. I've read several by Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child so she gave me this one. It continues my theme of not buying any books this year and reading what I have on hand!

Although I remain a devoted fan of the series, this wasn't my favorite Pendergast book. Pendergast just hasn't been the same since Cold Vengeance. White Fire featured more Corie than Pendergast, and the writing just didn't see up to the usual Preston and Child standard.
