Hmmm... I'm on the fence with this one. This is the first audiobook I've ever "read". The person reading the book was a little overdramatic and I almost stopped because I found her reading style to be annoying (maybe this is just me...!) I would have preferred to read it myself... but that's a lesson for me to learn. At first I wasn't too sure about this book. The writing style was different and it took some getting used to. After a few chapters I was hooked. Tahereh Mafi is wonderful. I love the voice she gives to Juliette. I enjoyed the repetition, crossing out thoughts, and the imagery.
The ending was a little flat for me. I felt like watching a fire die out. The ending is important to the story but it was just meh... I think that is why I can't give this book 5 stars. Other than that I LOVED the characte ...more

Tahereh Mafi sure likes her metaphors. They are fine when they are intermixed within the writing. I read this as an audiobook, but I could not get into this book. I found this disappointing because I really heard good-ish things about this book.
I ragequit this book like two weeks ago, so I figured I might as well get around to updating that I did so. I really had to admit at some point that I'll never finish this damn thing.
