A LOT of math and science-y info throughout the book (as one might expect, I suppose). Not really my kind of story, but I didn’t mind it as much as I thought I would.

gave this book five out of five stars on Goodreads. I really loved the story and loved how sarcastic Mark was throughout the book. In a way, the movie actually played down his sarcasm. You get to find out that it is this sarcastic nature that helps him survive in this inhospitable world. I am a bit sad that the movie took that away. I feel that this sarcasm is what makes this book special and fun. I will also mention that the audiobook is a lot of fun. I am a bit sad that the movie took that away. I feel that this sarcasm is what makes this book special and fun. I will also mention that the audiobook is a lot of fun. It did take me a while to get used to listening to Will Wheaton’s voice. It took a while for me to get used to since I did watch the movie before I read the book. I guess I was upset that it wasn’t Matt Daemon reading the book. In the end, Wheaton did an amazing job and told the story very well. Here is the interesting part. The Audible English version (since I do not see it in Spanish) is an audible original. How? Well, the audiobook has about 30 minutes of extra content expanding into the world of Mark Watney. The content was amazing and I loved it. I just wished I had it in written form. I will also have to say that I also loved how audible organized the chapters and the log entries. Normally, you just get chapters, but audible did organize each chapter and showed you each SOL entry. This made it easy for me to go back and forth between the audiobook and the physical book.

Except for what I talked about in the previous paragraph, I do not have any complaints about this book. I love this book, and it was the highlight of my week last week. I did not laugh as hard as I did with any of the other books that I have read last week.

I do not see any trigger warnings in this book so I am just going to move on with the recommendations. I do recommend this book to everyone. This book was so much fun to read and listen to. I believe that everyone is going to love Mark Watney as a character and enjoy his personality. There are moments where it does get intense, but there is so much humor throughout the book it balances everything out. There are some cuss words and some crude language, but it does not diminish the story. If you have not had the chance to do so, do read the book. ...more

AMAZING! very easy to read, got me hooked and I finished in two days. This was a well written book and I loved the main character. You rooted for him from beginning to end. The science was great and made sense. (which makes me even happier) a definite must read for anyone!
