I like Water for Elephants. I can't say I absolutely loved it but I didn't hate, or dislike, it either. I think the only word to really describe my feelings is like.
There seems to be so much crammed in to this book and yet so little. Some of the characters and characterisations just didn't come across well to me. This book was as wonderful as people said it was. The title is misleading; I looked over it a lot when seeing it everywhere I shopped. So I picked it up just so I would stop seeing it. I think the whole book was about love and family, dysfunctional, but a family none the less. It was a soap opera that featured a circus. (It actually made me think of the old HBO series "Carnivale", loved that show!)

The book was so easy to read, and incredibly absorbing! I was almost sad when it ended - I was fascinated by the down-and-dirty circus life that we don't see or ever imagined. The character development is insane.
