Wow. I really didn't expect the sequel to be up to par, but I really enjoyed it and the ending was perfect. I love the complexity of the relationship between the factions, especially given the ideal personality that members of particular factions are supposed to have. I enjoyed those who broke the set patterns, because that also made them divergent, even though they were not technically "Divergent".

Although Tris ultimately reminds me of Katniss from the Hunger Games, and probably ever other teen

Way better than the first novel in this series. I was disappointed in the first, mostly because I was expecting The Hunger Games, but also because it was too up and down. I kept expecting it to end yet it kept going and going and going...never a good thing for a book (especially a young adult book). However, Insurgent started low and rose till the very end. It made me excited to read the final book in the series where I felt as though I was forced to read the second book because of the first.

Disappointing. Tris became extremely annoying. Then, the secret that can't be explained is revealed. It could've easily been explained, which ruins so much of the book. 2.5 ...more
