What Members Thought
I like this better than the first. More depth. And i also like Tris and Tobias' relationship. It's so normal. No third parties, just fights. Which is so normal in a real relationship.
The story is mind blowing and very refreshing. At Divergent, I thought it was not very original, but I take it back now, this series is a good one. A fresh one.
Loyalties, limits, and strengths will be tested here. Veronica Roth is an author to watch out for. :) ...more

I had trouble getting back into the series, since I read the first one a year ago. I managed to remember a lot about the world as I was reading, but still had difficulty with individual minor characters. I liked the story, and will definite read the next (final?) book in the series.
A decent novel, but fails to live up to its predecessor. Resolves conflicts too quickly.
Blah, blah, blah just to get us to book 3, was not impressed with book.
Enjoying the trilogy & looking forward to the next, final, book in the series. I had trouble with remembering some of the characters at first and which faction they came from and currently belonged to, as well as who they held close loyalties to (family/friends), but the author reminds you as the action unfolds. Still a lot of action and much more movement than the first book.
I really enjoyed this, not as much as the first one, but still... It's got a gripping storyline and believable characters with an underlying message about human nature's tendency to be both good and evil at the same time.
