I read this book because I loved Denis Villeneuve's movies. I have to say I am a bigger fan of the films than the book. I know if I had read this book before having seen this adapted on screen I would have been completely lost in the beginning and would have probably given up. Having seen the movies and been exposed to the world building and the characters helped me tremendously. Really enjoyed reading this book. It was one of the first science fiction books I read I middle school. Good to know it holds up :-p
