I read this book over the course of three days, and at some point the book became un-put-down-able, so I just ploughed on and finished it.

My notes:
1) The characters were exceptionally strong personalities. From the villainous Baron Vladimir Harkonnen to the Freman chief Stilgar, almost every character had a very strong presence. That the protagonist Paul Atreides manages to stand up amid this cast of luminaries is a testament to how well the author has written him. Probably the biggest disappoin

Dune is a huge epic sci-fi book about cinnamon. Well, melange or “spice”, but it smells like cinnamon.
