There's a feeling here of an actual world that Kvothe and Denna and the rest are moving through, a sense of history and a sense of there being more than just what happens on the pages. The way Kvothe tells his story feels like he's telling about an actual life. An extremely full, almost improbably fantastic life, but a life nonetheless.
