These Violent Delights (Robin)
*Actual rating: 3.5 stars

When people told me this series is better than the Mortal Instruments, I was skeptical... cause the Mortal Instruments sucks.. I've never been as bored by a book or as annoyed by characters before. So, I assumed the worst of this series as well, you know, cause it's set in the same world and written by the same author.

I found myself actually caring about Tessa, Holy S**t I actually like a character written/created by Cassandra Clare?! I thought I'd never see the day lol

Will o Jem..... que pregunta???

3.5 - I listened to the audiobook, which was good fun. I haven't seen much of Jennifer Ehle since her Pride & Prejudice days, so it was good to hear her narrate a book, and I think she did a good job.
I liked Tessa's character, it feels as though she will grow and develop through the series. I didn't like Will, but maybe that will change later on.
The plot was okay, not fantastic, hence the medium rating. I do think there is an element of overhype around these books, but they are fine for a brea

Orphaned Tessa Gray arrives in England to live with her brother and, instead, finds herself prisoner to The Dark Sisters who force her to find her powers as a Downworlder. On the day she is to be forced into marrying the mysterious Magister she is rescued Will and Henry and taken to the Institute, home of the London Shadowhunters.

This is a prequel to the Mortal Instruments and it is a different book. There are steampunk elements that I don't remember in modern times. The characters are all inter

I have to say that I expected more awesomeness.

Although the book has some good phrases and moments, and I liked Charlotte a lot. It never gripped me through the story line.
