Some of my MacHalo buddies are in the middle of a reverse harem craze - I, of course, am above such silly fancies and am only reading along with them to make them feel better ;)

Not bad - the writing style is fine and the build-up believable enough. It's an interesting twist how they came together and how she does her crimes. For some reason I'm not feeling much interest when she does bond with any of the guys though, not fully sure why. The main character has a rough past but has recovered a great deal. It's not fully realistic, of course, with her abilities and motivations so early in life and focuses mainly on a creepy story where human subjects are being tested on f

So, somehow some of us went down a reverse harem hole and aren't coming out anytime soon. One female, more than one male. In this case 5. Part of the fun is picking your favorite while you read.
So, although Kit is a bit meh. Her boys aren't. And although the story could use more, The boys are great and it's enough of a plot to keep reading. ...more

Geez, as RH superfan (for better or worse...), I can't believe I haven't picked this up sooner. I'll cut to the chase on this one, I can't get enough of these books. Yes, these books have all the tropes, but they are easier overlooked in favor of darn-good storytelling. A few hangups here:
* Can we STOP with overbearing alpha/bdsm/ Christian Grey types? BIG turn off. One of the characters has the contours of that *type* (only he's not emotionally abusive, he's lovely and kind, sooo like a lovable ...more

DNF’d around 40%. This reads incredibly immature, as it it was written by a 14-yo 😬
Everything so superficial and told not explained. No character work that would make us root for the mm.

Fluctuates between not bad, and YA cringe awkward.
The storyline is very interesting, enough to have me continue to the end of the book. But those OTT moments, with unbelievable aspects…had me skimming to what was relevant so as to know, without having to be bored or headachey from too many eye-rolls 😂
You ever have to watch one of those Kids Spy movies: Where the characters have abilities even adult with years of experience and knowledge would envy, who always have just what the situation ...more
