I discovered the Oz books when I was in elementary school. Whenever my dad would go on a business trip, he would bring me back another book in the series. Although they aren't quite as magical to read as an adult, I still truly enjoy reading them. This first book in the series introduces the land of Oz (which looks somewhat different from the movie we are all familiar with) with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. I finished this recently on audiobook and it was so cute to listen to when driving - also very calming. It was an easy listen considering I know the movie inside out - even though this was pretty different. It was fun noticing all the differences between this and the movie too - a very fun children's (and, then again, not so) story :) ...more
