This one gets to me every time with the dog and King writing at times from the dog's perspective. It is truly a terrifying book, terrifying in that the horror is something very real. Our family pet turned into raging sick mania. I love how King puts other little horrors in his books. Kemp, Donna's ex-lover, and his rejection red rage was almost as horrifying to me as the idea of Cujo's slobbery face trying to bash in the window of the Pinto. Great stuff.

Cujo is an oversized St. Bernard living outside of a small Maine town who is friendly enough until he is exposed to rabies. Then he becomes a Stephen King novel monster, except unlike most SK novels you will not need to believe in ghosts or other supernatural phenomena.

Cujo is a St. Bernard belonging to the Camber family. The Trenton family uses Joe Cambers auto shop because it's cheap even though it's located far from town. Cujo gets rabies and things begin going bad for both families. I found that it took forever for this story to get going and I didn't care about at least half of the characters. I also didn't find it overly scary. Not one of King's best efforts.
